Gerald S. Bennett, 80, of Fenwick Mt., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.
Services will be Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. in Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood.
Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 from noon till service time here in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Cole officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Cemetery, Craigsville.

John Ray Cox
On Sunday, Dec. 29th, 2013, our most cherished, John Ray Cox, of Daniels went home to be with the Lord after a long Illness. He was in his 81st year.
One of ten children, John Ray was born on July 19, 1932 at Skelton. He was the son of the late Charles A. and Nellie Sydenstricker Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Hubert Cox, Raymond J. Cox, Howard L. Cox, Samuel T. Cox, Charles A. Cox and sisters, Gracie M. Cox and Glennis Green. He is the dear brother of his surviving sisters, Eva Freeman of Clarksville, Tenn. and Lucille Palmer and her husband, Frank, of Beckley.
John worked for Kroger. He retired with 44 years of service. In his leisure time he enjoyed wood working and bowling. John loved time spent with his family. In his later years, he cherished the time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his sisters, John leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, the former Sarah Lilly. To their union was born a son and two daughters. His oldest daughter, Teresa Ann has preceded him in death. He was the dear father to Susan Jackson and her husband, Andrew of Willamsburg, Va. and John Randall Cox and his wife, Julie of Clayton, N.C. He was the doting grandfather of Andrea Jackson and Savannah Jackson of Williamsburg and Mari and William Cox of Clayton.
Today, Wednesday, New Years Day we will remember the life of John Ray Cox at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The Service of Remembrance will be conducted at 1 p.m. The Rev. Paul Zutaut will be officiating. John will be laid to rest beside his daughter, Teresa Ann at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. And now, “Oh Glad Reunion.” Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Cox family would like to publicly acknowledge the Hill Top Nursing Center for compassion and care they gave to John.
As we, John’s family look to the New Year, we feel a little closer to Heaven. May he and Teresa Ann forever rest in peace together.

Lottie Lynn Foster, 47, of Richwood, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2013.

Lula Virginia Fuller
Lula Virginia Fuller, 91, of Lula Lane, Keyrock Road, Pineville passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Richmond, where she had been a resident for several years.
Born Nov. 14, 1922, at Asco, she was the daughter of the late William H. “Bill” Brooks and Margaret E. Rose Brooks of Indian Creek.
She was a former employee of Holloway Drug Store. She loved to share stories from her years working at the store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fuller and an infant child; four sisters, Virginia “Virgie” Short, Gladys Ellison, Pearl Phillips and Edith Lester; five brothers, Charles “Buddy” Brooks, Howard Brooks, William “Greevor” Brooks, James H. “Dutch” Brooks and Walter Brooks.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Lula’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Elder Bryce Phillips and Elder Russell McCoy officiating
Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their love for Lou Lou. Their care and compassion for her as her health declined due to Alzheimer’s.

Kenneth Lee McClung
Kenneth Lee McClung, 66, a resident of Heartland Nursing Home of Rainelle, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 from a long illness.
He was born Dec. 7, 1947 in Rupert.
Preceding him in death was his daughter, Hazel D. (DeeDee) McClung, his son, Ray M. Stinson, and his parents, Doyle and Hazel McClung.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Norma J. McClung of Rainelle; four more daughters, Maria Gaynor and husband Larry of Charleston, Deborah Cruse of Valley Bend, Randa McClung of Aiken, S.C., Lorria Gabbert and husband Larry of McRoss; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tommy McClung and wife Carolyn of Ricmond, Va., Buck McClung and wife Dessie of Fla., Ronnie McClung and wife Ellen of Rupert; and a loving sister-in-law that was a caregiver to him, Wanda Buttrum of Rupert.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an honorable man who was respected and love by many. He was a Vietnam veteran and a coal miner. He was also a member of the Victory Temple Church, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. on Tommie Hall Road in Rupert.
Officiating the memorial service will be brothers in the Lord: Felix Baker and Gary Cooper.

Edna Myles, 79, of Daniels, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital.

Elizabeth Irene ‘Rennie’ Pugh
Elizabeth Irene “Rennie” Pugh, 87, of Danese, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2013, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Healthcare, following a long illness.
Born Jan. 29, 1926, at Kathryn, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Eliza O’Conner Kincaid.
She was a member of Chestnut Knob Christian Church of Layland, and also attended Faith Community Church of Beckley.
Rennie was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Otis Pugh, Sr., a daughter, Linda Keller and several sisters.
Survivors include five sons, Otis Pugh (Janet) of Layland, George Pugh of Danese, Donald Pugh (Susan) of Saturday Road, Hico, Bobby Pugh (Sandy) of Mich., Larry Pugh (Fran) of Maplewood; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth Kincaid, of Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Marvin Mullens and Jason Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Carol Woolwine, 59, of Oceana, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 following a long illness.
Born December 10, 1954, in South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Nancy Lucille Faile.
Carol was “Mom” to all the neighborhood kids. She loved taking care of all of the children that came to her house over the years. She enjoyed being with her family and riding with her late husband Randy when he traveled all over the U.S. in his “Big Rig”. Carol loved the Lord, and He was her comfort during her illness.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on January 28, 2013 by her husband Randy Woolwine, her son Jason Dean Howard on January 6, 2011.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Tiffany Howard and her companion Adrain Brown. Her Grandson Donovan Howard, who was her heart. Her brother Ronald Conner, and James “Pookie” Bledsoe, whom she considered her son, her stepdaughter Nora Smith and her children, and her very dear friend B.J. Chandler.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, she will be cremated with a memorial service at a later date in South Carolina.
