Houston L. (Hooky) Trout
MARFRANCE — Houston L. (Hooky) Trout, 60, of Marfrance, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, October 30, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Hooky was born October 16, 1952, at Green Valley in Nicholas County.
He was a disabled coal miner with 36 years of service in the mines. He was Deacon and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the First Baptist Church of Quinwood. Hooky lived a great Christian life, was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Katherine Wright Trout; sister, Emmalie Bennett; infant brother, James Trout; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oswald and Mable Walkup; and niece, Kim Adkins.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Drema M. Bragg Trout of Marfrance; son, Anthony Trout of Marfrance; six brothers, Warren Trout and wife Rhonda of Marfrance, Clifford Trout and wife Shelia of Marfrance, Jimmy Trout and wife Audrey of Quinwood, Terry Trout and wife Margie of Charmco, Delbert Bragg and wife Lori of Marfrance, Elbert Bragg of Nettie; eight sisters, Judy Hanna and husband Maynard of Clintonville, Patricia Neff and husband Jerald of Rainelle, Dora Clark of Lewisburg, Cathy Smith and husband Arthur of Clay County, Linda Garcia and husband Richard of Nettie, Jewel Bragg and husband Lloyd of Nettie, Suellen McClung and husband Tom of Statesville, NC, Lorraine Bragg of Statesville, NC; special friends, Gary and Carol Dale of Orient Hill and Cora Bragg of Nettie. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Quinwood, with Pastor Chad Rodes, assisted by Pastor Billy Floyd. Burial will be at Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery at Carl, W.Va.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle.
