Herman Bryant II
Herman Bryant II, 35, of 504 Johnstown Road, Beckley, departed this life to enter his eternal rest on Friday, April 1, 2011.
Affectionately known as “Little Herman,” he was born July 12, 1975, in Beckley, WV, the eldest son of Herman and Barbara Bryant of Beckley, WV.
Herman attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Heart of God Ministries and a truck driver employed by Precision Motor Transport Group.
He was preceded in death by a son, Markyle Bryant, and grandmothers, Mary Guerrant and Laurinda Allen.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish precious memories are his daughter, Janay Tucker of Beckley; sons, Keandre and Keshon Bryant, both of Huntington, WV; grandfather, Robert Guerrant of Charleston; brother, Patrick (Rachael) of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Angela J. Bryant, Vania R. Bryant and Crystal N. (Nick) Robertson, all of Beckley; and a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was truly loved by all!
A celebration of Herman’s life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Judy Carolyn Dalton Morgan
OCEANA — Judy Carolyn Dalton Morgan, age 68, of Oceana, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Bowers Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born July 11, 1942, in Townsend, TN, she is the daughter of the late Sidney C. and Nettie E. Dalton of Matheny, WV.
Judy was a 1959 graduate of Oceana High School and a graduate of Concord College and West Virginia University. She was a retired school teacher with 35 years of service, 30 of which were with Wyoming County Schools at Oceana High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Thomas Dalton, infant sister Nancy Beth Dalton, and a stillborn brother. She was also the widow of Gerald Ray Bradford.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Deirdre Bradford Cline and husband Dennis of Oceana; Craig Bradford and wife Angie of Morgantown; and Melanie Morgan Keefer of Point Pleasant; and four grandchildren Brandon Cline, Tyler Bradford, Dustin Bradford, and Morgan Elizabeth Keefer.
In honor of Judy’s wishes she will be cremated.
Memorial gathering in honor of Judy will take place on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 6 till 9 p.m. at Evans Memorial Chapel in Oceana.

Marcia Adkins Wickline
MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Mrs. Marcia Adkins Wickline, age 61, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County.
Mrs. Wickline was born in Elton, West Virginia, on November 3, 1949, to the late Herbert and Mary Lucille Bryant Adkins.
She was retired from Golden Living Center and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wickline is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Annalisa and Steve Davis, and Mary Beall, all of Mt. Airy; two sons and daughter-in-law, Daren Wickline of Mt. Airy, Thomas, Jr., and Eileen Wickline of the Philippines; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Hope Ames, Roselee and James Goddard, all of West Virginia; two brothers and sister-in-law, Mark and Arlene Adkins, and Norman Adkins, all of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy, by the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery. Mary Hash Wiseman
FAYETTEVILLE — It is with deep sadness that the family of Mary Virginia Akers Hash Wiseman, age 87, announces her passing from Parkinson’s and other complications on April 2, 2011, in her beloved Fayetteville, WV.
Born on April 26, 1923, in Tazewell, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lesko and Viola Asbury Akers of Tazewell, VA.
Mrs. Wiseman lived her life with grace and dignity. She enjoyed working at the State Sentinel newspaper and side by side with her late husband at Wiseman Drug Store in Fayetteville. The greatest joy in her life was her devotion to her children. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and gardener. She was a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Emmett O. “Doc” Wiseman, in 1989; sisters, Katherine Kinder, Barnzie Lewis; brothers, Edgar, Melvin, James, Frank and Robert Akers; son-in-law, James Hornsby; and infant grandson, David M. Hornsby.
Left to cherish her memory include daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hornsby of Fayetteville, WV, and Ann Holden and husband, Robert, of Portsmouth, RI; son, James “Sonny” Hash and wife, Donna, of Bridgeport, WV; stepdaughter, Mary V. Lewis and husband, Porter, of Fayetteville, WV; grandchildren, Brian Hornsby of Oak Hill, WV, Mark Holden of Newport, RI, Jeff Holden of Minden, NV, Karen Hash Rupert of Manassas, VA, and Scott Hash of Lexington, SC; four sisters, Hazel Shouse of Dublin, VA, Ella Stephenson of Claremont, VA, Margaret Rodriguez and Mildred Pennington, both of Tazewell, VA; eight stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, and one hour prior to the funeral Tuesday at the funeral home.
