Rowan Quinn Pennington-Baker
Rowan Quinn Pennington-Baker, three-month-old infant daughter of Phillip Baker and Mandy Pennington of Charleston, became an angel Aug. 23, 2008.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Jeane Pennington of Charleston; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Martha Baker of Beckley; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Gallagher of Ghent; aunts and uncles, Janie and Jim Nielsen of Charleston, Anne and Amanda Baker, both of Beckley, Suzey and Wilmer Boggess, Sian Boggess and Sara Telisko, all of Charleston, Rita Gallagher of Scott Depot, Michael and Nancy Gallagher of Barboursville, Vincent and Pam Gallagher of Shady Spring, and Joseph Gallagher of Ghent.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans, with Father Pat McDonough officiating. Burial will follow in the Ingram Family Cemetery, Sissonville.
Visitation with the family was 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home where a Christian wake service was held at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Jones, Brent Hall, Justin Pistore and Wilmer Boggess.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: American SIDS Institute, 509 Augusta Drive, Marietta, GA 30067.

Roy Melvin Brooks Jr.
ALDERSON — Roy Melvin Brooks Jr. of Alderson passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Alderson.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Paul Joseph Buckner
OAK HILL — Paul Joseph Buckner, 49, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at C.A.M.C. General Hospital, Charleston.
Born Dec. 19, 1958, at Oak Hill, he was the son of the late Haymond Buckner and Freda Tucker Buckner.
Paul had worked for the Mizzelle Roofing Company and was of the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by brothers, William “Billy” Buckner, Rhondes Withrow and Earl Withrow; and a sister, Connie Slesinki.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Debra Hall of Oak Hill; a son, Paul Jeremiah Buckner; daughters, Ashley Nichole Hall, Jessica Lynn Hall, Brittiany Gail Hall, all of Oak Hill; granddaughter, Aireyona Walton; brothers, Haymond “Jabo” Buckner and wife, Pam, of Powelton, Ray Buckner and wife, Judy, of Niles, Ohio, Mark Buckner and wife, Judy, of Pulaski, Va.; sisters, Dottie McMillion of Oak Hill, Charlotte Fleming of LeHigh Acres, Fla., Diane Snyder and husband, David, of Kincaid, Debbie Buckner of Scarbro, Ella Mae Comer and husband, Charles, of Mount Hope, Carmel Campbell and husband, Roger, of Belle, Gladys Sears and husband, Lester, of Rich Creek, Va., Mildred Joyce Edwards and husband, Roy, of Indiana, and Mary Sue Wolf and husband, Doug, of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His remains rest at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main St., Oak Hill, where the funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Jack Long officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
The family will receive friends noon until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Randolph Lee Conley
Randolph Lee Conley passed away Aug. 23, 2008, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, following a long illness.
Randolph was born March 4, 1944, in Fort Knox, Ky., to Jesse Randolph Conley and Kathleen Hall Conley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Brookie Powell Conley.
Randolph attended Concord College and Marshall University. He had a B.A. in History and taught school five and a half years in both Ohio and West Virginia. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and the NRA.
Randolph is survived by his wife, Lillie Lester Conley; a stepson, Bruce Morrison, of Mount Vernon, Ohio; four sisters, Helen Durham (George) of Lakeland, Fla., Brenda Klipa (Pete), Shirley Frederick (Rusty) and Betty Bryner (Brent) of Plant City, Fla.; six nieces and nephews, Heather Bryner of Buenos Aires, Argentina, David Bryner of Ruskin, Fla., Jessica Klipa of Bradenton, Fla., Peter and Kira Klipa of Tampa, Fla., Anna Klipa and Rusty Frederick Jr. of Plant City, Fla.; two aunts, Nita Cline of Lynco, and Helen Hall of South Carolina; and numerous cousins also survive him.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Adam Toler Memorial Funeral Home in Oceana.

HANOVER — Ronald Clayton Gray, 69, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

Ada Ann Maddy
HINTON — Ada Ann Maddy, 79, of 1008 Greenbrier Drive, Hinton, went to her Heavenly Home at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born July 23, 1929 in Madison, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David Cisero and Dasie Richardson Light.
Ann was a graduate of Forest Hill High School and was a member of the Forest Hill Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lester Maddy; two sisters, Lorraine Crutchfield and Phyllis Neal.
She is survived by her son, Doug and wife, Billie Maddy, of Plum Orchard Lake; and daughter, Cheryl and husband, Tom Ayres, of Beckley.
Ann was the loving grandmother of Dennis Garrison, Cassie Newman and husband, Ryan, Josh Maddy and fiancé, Lyra Park, Zach Maddy, Jaime Ayres and fiancé, Greg Jones, and Michael Ayres. She was the loving great- grandmother of Madelyne and Cooper Newman; two brothers, Phillip Light and wife, Bernice, of Forest Hill and Mauriece Light and wife, Laura, of Roanoke, Va., and a sister, Irene Waldron of Roanoke, Va.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with the Rev. Sam Haught officiating.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Melvin Jerome Reed
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Melvin Jerome Reed, 66, of Columbus, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Grant Hopsital, Columbus, Ohio.
Melvin was born July 2, 1942, in Beckley. He was a Navy veteran of the USS Enterprise 1960-1963 and enjoyed sailing, cooking and riding his motorcycle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lamentha Reed; and brother, George Reed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Irene Reed; children, Melvin (Vickie) Reed of Coppell, Texas, Jennifer (Anthony) Reed of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael Reed of Portsmouth, Va.; uncle, Leroy Glenn of Beckley; sisters, Mary (John) Williams and Thomasine Evans, both of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Kirstin and Jazlyn McFarland of Columbus, Ohio; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Willard Cline Williams
WILMINGTON, N.C. — Willard Cline Williams, a native of Raleigh County, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center.
He was born Oct. 30, 1944, in Raleigh County, W.Va., a son of the late Willard Williams and Elizabeth Ransom Williams.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of the DAV.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Williams, of the home; children, Kimberly Williams of Charlotte, N.C., and Willard Brian Williams and wife, Lisa, of Wilmington; grandchildren, Brett Williams and Brianna Williams; brother, Eldon Williams and wife, Marion, of Bellevue, Wash., and sister Phyllis Hatcher and husband, Bill, of Prince George, Va.
Graveside service was 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Jacksonville, N.C.
