Jackie A. Belcher
Jackie A. Belcher, 68, of Roderfield, W.Va., formerly of the Baileysville/Clearfork area, died amongst family members on July 13, 2008, at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, W.Va., following a short illness.
Mr. Belcher was born April 27, 1940, in Baileysville, W.Va., a son of the late Bernard and Merlie Belcher. He was a disabled Braddishman with Peabody Coal Company of the Kopperston #2 mines at Kopperston, W.Va. He was a member of the U.M.W.A., local union District #17, and is a member of the Harman’s Branch Church of God at Harman’s Branch near Iaeger, W.Va. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, two brothers, Gene and Alfred Belcher, in-laws, John and Nellie Muncy, and brother-in-law, James Muncy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 1/2 years, Sharon Muncy Belcher of Roderfield; one son, Jackie Belcher and wife Angie of Nokesville, Va.; three daughters, Arlene Toler and husband Tommy of Sophia, Marlene Walls of Oceana, and LaNelle Reed and husband Donald Jr. of Welch; five grandsons, Joe Toler of Kentucky, Tony Toler and wife Bobbi-Jo of St. Albans, Andrew Toler of Sophia, Jackie C. Belcher of Nokesville, Va., and Danny Walls Jr. Of Sophia; one granddaughter, Mary Penny and husband Trevor of Beckley; one great-granddaughter, Keirsten Toler of St. Albans; and one great-grandson, Drightan Penny of Beckley; one brother, Bobby Belcher and wife Virgie of Oceana; one sister, Betty Cline and husband Gerald of Lynco; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; and a special little puppy, “Lil Bit.”
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 16, 2008, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 noon, at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 o’clock with Pastor John Green officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Princeton, W.Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Olen E. ‘Yank’ Cales
RAINELLE — Olen E. “Yank” Cales, 78, of Lilly Park, passed away early Sunday morning, July 13, 2008, in Roanoke, Va., following a short illness.
Born Aug. 11, 1929, at Sandstone, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elbert F. and Rosetta Mae Cales.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rainelle, and a member of the Midland Trail Lodge No. 166 A.F. & A.M., serving as a Mason. Yank was retired from C&O Railroad, having worked 41 1/2 years as a mechanic.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois J. Bailey Cales of Lilly Park; two daughters, Connie (Mi-chael) Crowe of Danese, and Sandy (Barry) Band of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Stewart (Tammy) Cales of Rainelle; a sister, Clara McCraw of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a brother, Calvin Cales of Paris, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren, Dustin, Logan, Landon, Adrienne, Camryn, Keaton, Simon and Jordan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Bob Scharnhorst officiating, assisted by Keith Shumaker. Entombment will follow in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville, with Masonic graveside rites.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Tracy Mary Evans
GILBERT — Tracy Mary Evans, 85, a retired school teacher and homemaker, died 9:05 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Logan Center, Logan.
Born Aug. 8, 1922, at North Spring, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Leatha (Cline) Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Marion Evans; two sons, William Ronald Evans and John Wesley Evans; and an unnamed infant daughter.
She was a member of the Little Cub Memorial Church.
Survivors include four sons, Roger B. Hatfield of Monaville, W.Va., Lawrence Thomas (Linda) Evans of Kopperston, Dr. Winston Churchill (Patricia) Evans of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jerry Arnold (Sheila) Evans of North Spring, W.Va.; three daughters, Leatha Etta (John) Perry of Fallansbee, W.Va., Diana Lynn Evans of Houston, Texas, and Dale Ann (James) Morris of Columbia, S.C.; a niece, Phyllis Lambert of Justice; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, with the Revs. Diamond Carter and Lowell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Davis Cemetery, North Spring.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert.
Pallbearers will be Billy, Scott, Keith, and Toby Evans and Chris and Jimmy Morris.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Brenda Ann McGarity, 58, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at Blount County Memorial Hospital, following a long battle with cancer.

Shirley Ann O’Meara
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Shirley Ann O’Meara, 68, formerly of Whitesville and Dorothy, W.Va., died Sunday, July 13, 2008, after a long illness.
Born March 6, 1940, at Montcoal, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Cantley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald O’Meara; daughter, Nancy O’Meara; a sister, Geraldine Estep.
She is survived by two sons, Danny O’Meara of Beckley, and Brandon Pettry of Colorado; three daughters, Terri Williams of Knoxville, Tenn., Virginia O’Meara of Beckley and Crissie Scott of Hinton; two sisters, Shelby Estep of Horsecreek and Edna Combs of Arnett; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Valley Funeral Home, Whitesville, with minister Dr. Jerald Fisher officiating. The family may call beginning at 11 a.m., with friends at 12 noon on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.
Bearers will be Danny O’Meara, Shaun O’Meara, Jonathan O’Meara, Deward Scott, Gerald Fisher, Jackie Estep, and Christopher Curry.

RUPERT — Lonnie Richard Shires Jr., age 81, of Rupert, formerly of Alderson, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va., following a short Illness.

Eleanor Grace Ryan Stalnaker
TALCOTT — Eleanor Grace Ryan Stalnaker, 74, of Talcott, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, July 13, 2008, at Allegheny Regional Hospital at Low Moor, Va., following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 3, 1933, at Fairmont, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Arthur and Loleta Kelly Ryan.
Former employee of Kentucky Central Life Insurance Co. where she worked as an Office Manager. She was a faithful member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church where she taught the Women’s Bible Class and earnestly served the Lord, trusting daily in Him for guidance and blessing. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Ryan and Bernard Ryan; and one sister, Wanita Bennett.
Survived by her husband of 49 years, Pastor Dana L. Stalnaker; two sons, Mark Stalnaker of Newport News, Va., and Matthew Stalnaker and wife Lisa of Talcott; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachael, Stephen, Emily and Daniel; one sister, Floanna Andrews of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the Rollynsburg Baptist Church at Talcott with Pastors Joe Collins and Don Bean officiating. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rollynsburg Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Men of the church will serve as pallbearers.
