He was a retired coal miner and farmer.
My favorite things as you all know
Are fields of summer golds
Days shared with my family
And telling stories we’ve often told.
The hum of my tractor
Good Ole’ Ginger at my heels
Rows of freshly laiden hay
The feel of my slow tractor wheels
My bride I have shared my life
A family we’ve made out of love
I’ll wait for you in our next one
Through the gates of Heaven above
Don’t shed a tear or weep for me
My body and soul feel no pain
I’ll be with my heaven family
Until we meet once again
The years we have shared
So many memories to hold
Wrap me tight and stay with me
Now in rolling fields of gold
