An 11-year-old Maryland boy who apparently walked into a woman’s target-practice area is in stable condition with gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Link wouldn’t identify the boy Tuesday but said he is from Baltimore.
Link said the boy was in critical condition late Monday, but he was upgraded to stable Tuesday at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Link said a nurse told him the boy’s life is no longer in danger.
No charges have been filed in the shooting at Great Cacapon.
Deputies say the boy walked in front of a female relative as she was firing a .22-caliber revolver.
The shooter was not under the influence of either alcohol or drugs at the time.
