Strong winds are headed our way, according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. today for Raleigh, Fayette, Wyoming and McDowell counties.
Winds are expected to blow at 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts from 40 to 50 miles per hour.
Rain showers and thunderstorms may accompany these strong winds.
Residents are advised to secure loose objects. Power outages are possible as well.
