CHARLESTON (AP) — Sophomore Sarah Kelly had 20 points, 12 assists and a record 10 steals to lead Spring Valley in the girls Class AAA quarterfinals Wednesday night at the Charleston Civic Center.

Madison Morris scored 12 of her 27 points in the third quarter for Spring Valley (23-3). Morris also had 15 rebounds.

Kelly’s 10 steals broke the Class AAA tournament record of nine shared by four players.

Keke Walker had 25 points and Khadijah Lee scored 17 for eighth-seeded Capital (10-14).

Griffin Dempsey led four-time defending champion St. Joseph (23-1) with 27 points. Freshman Mychelle Johnson scored 16 and Asia Petitte had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Summer Sword had 13 points for eighth-seeded Man (15-11).

CHARLESTON (AP) — Audra Clark had 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead St. Marys.

Third-seeded St. Marys (24-1) advanced to the semifinals for the third time in four years.

Kendra Walker added 11 rebounds for St. Marys, which forced 34 turnovers and had 19 steals.

Shanda Howell led No. 6 Tygarts Valley (17-8) with seven points.

CHARLESTON (AP) — Stephanie Betler scored 24 points, Amber Evans had 21 and Tucker County beat Williamstown 61-53 in the girls Class A quarterfinals Wednesday night.

Fourth-seeded Tucker County (20-5) advances to meet four-time defending champion St. Joseph on Friday.

Tucker County avenged a close loss to Williamstown in last year’s quarterfinals.

Savannah Ambrose had 13 rebounds and Evans had 12 for Tucker County.

Kenzie Smith had 19 points and Brooke Cieslewski added 16 for No. 5 Williamstown (14-10).
