Roundup: Westside shocks No. 3 Tug Valley 71-68

CLEAR FORK — Corey Bowles scorched the nets for 35 points, including eight baskets from behind the arc, to lead the Class AA No. 10 Westside Renegades past Class A No. 3 Tug Valley Friday.

Justin Cogar added a double-double for Westside scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Mikey Newsome led the Panthers with 20 points and Thomas Baisden added 17 points.

Westside (8-5) travels to Glen Daniel Tuesday to face the Liberty Raiders.

Wyoming East 70, Oak Hill 64

NEW RICHMOND —Class AA No. 4 Wyoming East withstood a 3-point barrage from the Oak Hill Red Devils to capture their ninth win of the season.

Austin Canada led the Warriors with 21 points. Josh Tunstalle added 17 points and Brett Bowling scored 16 points.

Joey Re led the Red Devils with 18 points on a night that saw Oak Hill hit 10 3-point buckets.

Wyoming East (9-2) travels to Shady Spring Tuesday.

CHARMCO — Josh Martin scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter to lift the Cavaliers.

Colby Ennis added 11 points and Alston Ransom had 10 for West, which led 24-8 after one period and 41-18 at the half.

L.J. White and Will Dooley each netted 10 points for Fayetteville (1-8), which hosts Richwood on Tuesday.

Greenbrier West (7-2) will host Summers County on Wednesday.
