CLEAR FORK — Corey Bowles scorched the nets for 35 points, including eight baskets from behind the arc, to lead the Class AA No. 10 Westside Renegades past Class A No. 3 Tug Valley Friday.

Justin Cogar added a double-double for Westside scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Mikey Newsome led the Panthers with 20 points and Thomas Baisden added 17 points.

Westside (8-5) travels to Glen Daniel Tuesday to face the Liberty Raiders.

NEW RICHMOND —Class AA No. 4 Wyoming East withstood a 3-point barrage from the Oak Hill Red Devils to capture their ninth win of the season.

Austin Canada led the Warriors with 21 points. Josh Tunstalle added 17 points and Brett Bowling scored 16 points.

Joey Re led the Red Devils with 18 points on a night that saw Oak Hill hit 10 3-point buckets.

Wyoming East (9-2) travels to Shady Spring Tuesday.

CHARMCO — Josh Martin scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter to lift the Cavaliers.

Colby Ennis added 11 points and Alston Ransom had 10 for West, which led 24-8 after one period and 41-18 at the half.

L.J. White and Will Dooley each netted 10 points for Fayetteville (1-8), which hosts Richwood on Tuesday.

Greenbrier West (7-2) will host Summers County on Wednesday.

HICO — Midland Trail, behind a 26-point effort from Colin Carte, raced out to a 42-22 halftime lead to roll past Richwood and avenge a 33-point loss to the Lumberjacks last week.

Rickie Carter posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Tyler Skaggs had 11 points for Trail.

Zach Bennett led the Lumberjacks with 17 points, while Ben Weber had 16 points and Ryan Bennett scored 12 points.

Midland Trail (3-5) travels to Meadow Bridge Tuesday.

MADISON — Class AA No. 3 Scott outscored Nicholas County 45-30 in the first half and went on to pick up their 10th win of the season 70-54.

Matt Dolan led the 10-3 Skyhawks with 27 points, while Eric May and Anthony Sigmon scored eight points apiece.

Jared Tharp paced the Grizzlies with 17 points, Cody McClung scored 14 points and Eric Peyatt had 10.

Summers hosts tripleheader tonight

Summers County’s rematch with Meadow Bridge, postponed Thursday night because of the snowstorm, will be played today as part of a tripleheader in Hinton.

The Summers and Meadow Bridge JV teams will square off at 4 p.m., followed by a girls matchup between Class AA powers Summers and Scott.

The Lady Bobcats are 9-2 and ranked No. 4 in the latest AP poll. Scott is 6-5 and ranked No. 15. The two squads met in both the 2010 and 2011 state championship games, with Summers prevailing each time.

The Meadow Bridge and Summers boys will conclude the evening with an 8 p.m. game. The Class A No. 15 Wildcats (now 3-4) knocked off the AA No. 15 Bobcats (7-4) 77-56 earlier in the season in Meadow Bridge.

Meadow Bridge 51, Greenbrier West 33

MEADOW BRIDGE — Senior Sarah Fleshman posted a double-double to lead the Meadow Bridge Lady Wildcats (8-3) past rival Greenbrier West Friday.

Fellow senior Chandra Harrah added 13 points and Caitlin White chipped in nine points for Meadow Bridge.

Kristen Harris led all scorers with 21 points for the Lady Cavaliers.

Meadow Bridge plays today at 5 p.m. in the southern bracket championship game of the Hometown Invitational Tournament at Buffalo.
