Roundup: Lester's double-double leads undefeated Westside

CLEAR FORK — The Class AA No. 1 Westside Lady Renegades placed three players in double figures to roll past Shady Spring Wednesday and remain undefeated.

Hope Lester led the way with a double-double, scoring a game-high 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Faith Davis added 22 points, seven assists and six steals, while Danielle Brown scored 15 points and had eight assists.

Morgan Hylton led the Lady Tigers with eight points.

Westside (9-0) travels to county rival Wyoming East tonight.

Independence 37, Oak Hill 32

The Independence Lady Patriots jumped out to a 24-12 halftime lead and held off a late rally by the Oak Hill to defeat the Lady Red Devils Wednesday in Coal City.

Emily Fedukovich led Independence with a game-high 19 points, while Krista Harris grabbed 10 rebounds to go with her five points in the win.

D’Versity Champion led the Lady Red Devils with 14 points.

Independence travels to Mount View tonight. Oak Hill travels to Nicholas County Monday.

HINTON — Jared Tharp poured in 34 points to lead Nicholas County past Summers County Wednesday for its fourth consecutive win.

Cody McClung added 20 points and Eric Peyatt chipped in 18 points for the Grizzlies.

TaRon Ayers led the Bobcats with 21 points and T.J. Smith added 20 points.

Nicholas County (5-2) hosts Herbert Hoover tonight, while Summers County (5-4) hosts PikeView Saturday.
