Roundup: Oak Hill downs Musselman 48-35

INWOOD — Oak Hill exploded for 33 second-half points to down the Applemen.

Kennedy Award candidate Jalen Jones led the victory with 318 yards on 32 carries. He scored on runs of 5, 54, 55 and 15 yards.

K.K. Goodman added 70 yards and 17 carries, and found the end zone from 4 and 2 yards out. Quarterback Deonte Scruggs scored on a 1-yard run and passed for another 31.

Trevon Wesco scored three times for Musselman (0-2).

Oak Hill (2-0) will be idle this week.

LINDSIDE — T.J. Smith ran for a touchdown (15) and threw for two more scores (25, 9) to lead the Summers County Bobcats over James Monroe 28-14 Friday.

Isaiah Brown and Donte Ellis were on the receiving end of the two Smith touchdown passes.

Caleb Harrah opened the scoring for the Bobcats with a 40-yard return of a blocked punt in the first quarter.

Reed McNeer led the Mavericks with two touchdown passes (70, 45).

Summers County (2-0) makes the long road trip to Grafton Friday.

Meadow Bridge 32, Tug Valley 14

NAUGATUCK — The Meadow Bridge Wildcats outscored Tug Valley 24-6 in the first half and went on to defeat the Panthers 32-14 Friday.

Jake Parker rushed for 201 yards and scored three touchdowns (17, 10, 20) to lead the Wildcats on the ground.

Meadow Bridge quarterback Ryan Church attempted only one pass on the evening, a 62-yard touchdown strike to Caleb Farr in the second quarter.

Shane Harless led the Wildcats defensive effort with 17 tackles.

David Runyon scored on a nine-yard run and Tyler Conley scored on a two-yard run for Tug Valley.

Meadow Bridge (2-0) travels to county rival Midland Trail Friday.

PRINCETON – The Princeton Tigers fought back from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit Friday night to hang a loss on county rival Bluefield, 32-29, before a capacity crowd at Anne S. Hunnicutt Stadium.

Princeton (2-0) running back Tahj Sho-Johnson followed up his 147-yard performance last week by gaining 199 yards on 31 carries.

Bluefield (1-1) quarterback R.J. Bourne surprised the Tigers defense with 96 rushing yards on nine attempts.

But his final rush, from the Princeton 1 yard line, was stuffed by the Tigers defense, setting off a wild celebration from the home fans.
