ROUNDUP: Spartans take 27-20 win at Parkersburg South


Nicholas County 47, River View 0

SUMMERSVILLE — The Class AA No. 11 Nicholas County Grizzlies scored on the first offensive play of the game, a 54-yard pass from Tyler Sagraves to Wil Mayes, on their way to a 47-0 victory over River View Friday.

Mayes found the end zone four more times on the ground (8, 2, 9, 32) and finished with 159 yards.

Andrew Woods scored on a 7-yard run, and lineman Hunter Coleman scored on a 54-yard interception return for the Grizzlies.

Nicholas County is off Friday before closing out the season with a trip to Richwood Nov. 8.

UPPER GLADE — Two-point conversion passes from Jake Thayer to Logan Taylor and Chase Rose proved the difference for the Highlanders.

Thayer completed 13 of 22 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown to Taylor.

Webster (2-7), which took advantage of five Braxton turnovers, will conclude its season next Friday at Pocahontas County.
