SUMMERSVILLE — Class AA No. 11 Nicholas overcame a 7-0 first half to roll to its sixth win of the campaign.

Will Mayes scored three touchdowns, twice on 5-yard runs and another on a 30-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Sagraves.

Mayes ran for 76 yards and caught passes for another 38. Sagraves was 10 of 17 through the air for 138 yards and two scores. Mayes and Austin Hills both had 12 tackles.

Lincoln County (0-6) was held to 91 total yards.

Nicholas (5-2) will host River View on Friday.

LINDSIDE — The Mavericks rolled to a 52-0 lead in the first half and cruised past Mount View for their second win of the season.

Senior halfback Brian Young scored three times in the first 13 minutes of play in his final homecoming game for James Monroe (2-5), twice after Mount View (1-6) lost first-quarter fumbles, and the Mavericks were on a roll.

Brian Young gained 97 yards for James Monroe, while Andrew Hazzard ran for 152 for the Golden Knights.
