ROUNDUP: Charleston Catholic downs Shady Spring 6-2

BECKLEY — Sophomore Caroline Dunderville found the net four times to lead Charleston Catholic past Shady Spring 6-2 Tuesday at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex.

Fellow sophomores Sophia Bumgardner and Peyton Keener added one goal apiece for the Fighting Irish.

Carlie Kilmer scored one goal for the Lady Tigers, while senior all-stater Lindsey Thompson picked up the other goal on an assist from freshman sister Hannah Thompson.

Shady Spring (3-5-1) travels to Oak Hill Thursday.



PikeView 2, Oak Hill 0

GARDNER — Brooke Baker scored one goal and assisted on a goal by Maranda Keaton to lead the PikeView Lady Panthers past the Oak Hill Lady Red Devils 2-0 Tuesday.

PikeView goalkeeper Kristen Brinkley recorded three saves in the shutout win, while Oak Hill goalkeeper Brianna Ovalle had four saves.

PikeView (6-3) hosts James Monroe Thursday.



Woodrow Wilson 3, Nitro 2

NITRO — Sophomore Rebekah Cook scored two goals and senior Elizabeth Gramling added another to propel the Lady Flying Eagles past Nitro Tuesday 3-2.

Woodrow Wilson out-shot Nitro 17-7. Goalkeeper Emily Lane recorded five saves in the victory.

Sarah Akers, Mikayla Akers and Shannon Barajas each had one assist for the Lady Flying Eagles.

Woodrow Wilson (5-3-4) hosts Capital at 2 p.m. Saturday.



BOYS PREP SOCCER

Shady Spring 6, Nicholas County 0


SUMMERSVILLE — The Shady Spring Tigers dominated the pitch Tuesday night and rolled to a 6-0 shutout over the Nicholas County Grizzlies.

Nick Bartusiak tallied two goals and one assist and Josh Snyder added two goals to lead the Tigers’ attack.

Keegan Mueller chipped in a goal and an assist, while Tony Stover scored a goal and Logan Foster added an assist for Shady Spring.

Shady Spring (3-4) hosts Greenbrier East Thursday at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex.
