Roundup: Akers leads 4-0 Woodrow win


Woodrow Wilson 4, Cabell Midland 0

Sarah Akers’ two goals led Woodrow Wilson to a shutout of Cabell Midland.

Rebekah Cook and Elizabeth Grambling scored the other two goals for the Flying Eagles. Cook, Akers and Meghan Williams all had assists.

Woodrow had seven shots on goal to the Knights’ zero.

The Eagles (4-3-4) will visit Nitro at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

PikeView 4, Pocahontas County 0

GARDNER — Brooke Baker, Shyann Carr and Lexie O’Dell all scored goals in PikeView’s win.

The Panthers also benefited from an own goal.

O’Dell and Sophie Kline each assisted for PikeView (5-3).

Lorena Rose and Brittany McMillion combined for seven saves for the Warriors.

PikeView will host Oak Hill at 5 p.m. Tuesday.


PikeView 4, Pocahontas County 0

GARDNER — Vaughn Campbell scored two goals as PikeView blanked visiting Pocahontas County.

Isaac Van Blaricom and Noah Harrison added a goal apiece. Seth Wood assisted on two goals for the Panthers, which outshot Pocahontas 25-4.

Warriors keeper Alex Kennison had 10 saves.

PikeView (6-2-1) will host PikeView at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
