Wyoming East 10, Westside 0
NEW RICHMOND — Defending Class AA champion Wyoming East finished off Westside Friday afternoon to win the Class AA Region III, Section 2 championship. The Warriors will await the winner of Region III, Section 1 next.
Christian Hedinger led Wyoming East in Friday’s game, pitching a complete game 2-hitter in the victory. He was also 2-for-2 at the plate.
Eric Thornton had a pair of doubles and drove in four runs, while Brian Lusk and Jon Culicerto drove in two runs each.
Westside, which saw its season come to an end, was led by Casey Davis and Breyer Morgan, who produced the Renegades’ only hits.

Greenbrier West 16, Montcalm 7
CHARMCO — Jared Jennings hit for the cycle and drove in eight runs to lead the Greenbrier West Cavaliers past Montcalm Thursday and win the Class A Region 3, Section 2 title.
Jacob Burke added three hits and three RBIs, while Dustin Yoakum and Adam Tygrett had three hits apiece.
Steve Whitteker blasted a home run for Montcalm and Aaron Pressley and Tyler Poe each had two hits.
Greenbrier West (12-9) advances to regional play hosting Fayetteville May 21.

Fayetteville 25, Montcalm 0 (5 innings)
MONTCALM — Kaitlyn Sisler pitched a one-hit shut-out, smacked two triples and drove in three runs to lead Fayetteville past Montcalm Thursday.
Shelby Dorsey added three hits and drove in five runs and catcher Alexa Roles added three hits and three RBIs for the Lady Pirates.
Fayetteville also had big a big night from Ashley Gilkerson with three hits and four RBIs and Maddie Pritt, Kelsey Norris and Morgan Funk with two RBIs apiece.
Fayetteville advances to the regional finals next Thursday.

Nicholas County girls third in Class AA Region 4
The Nicholas County girls placed third in the final event — the 4x400-meter relay — and it was enough to help the Grizzlies preserve the Class AA Region 4 track and field title Friday.
Scott, the Grizzlies’ closest competition in the overall team standings at Laidley Field, finished second in the 4x400, but it wasn’t enough as Nicholas closed with 135 points to Scott’s 133.
Poca claimed the boys crown with 136 points. Runner-up Herbert Hoover tallied 104.
Freshman Aidan Payton was a double winner for the Grizzlies, clocking a time of 2 minutes, 34.67 seconds in the 800 and 5:41.49 in the 1600.
Her teammate, Elizabeth Messer, won the 100 hurdles (16.54), and two other Grizzlies — Autumn Tyree (16.90) and Arianna Crawford (17.93) — finished second and third in that race.
In addition, Nicholas posted wins in the 4x100, 4x200 and shuttle hurdle relays.
The Nicholas County boys were victorious in the 4x800 relay (9:23.4).
