Local Roundup: Shady Spring 9, Independence 8

— Shady Spring 9, Independence 8

In a back and forth game, the Shady Spring Tigers rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring two runs to defeat Independence Friday in Shady Spring 9-8.

Jordan Palchesko had three hits and three RBIs and Brenden Schack smacked two doubles and scored three runs to lead the Tigers. Jordan Meadows added three hits and John Linkous had a double and two RBIs.

Andrew Hughart blasted a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs to lead the Patriots. Drew D’Angelo and Tanner Ray added two hits apiece for Independence.

Shady Spring finishes the season 6-14 and will play again Tuesday against the Woodrow Wilson/Oak Hill winner in sectional play.
