The Greenbrier East Spartans survived a shootout to defeat Parry McCluer, Va., and move to 3-1 for the first time since 2001.
Isaiah Kinder ran for three touchdowns (39, 1, 1) and tossed a 68-yard strike to Colby Johnson for another score to lead the Spartans, who rolled up 412 yards of total offense.
Special teams played a big role in the win. Zayvion Lawson returned a punt 73 yards, and Phillip Dowdy had a 95-yard kickoff return.
Parry McCluer was led by Rysheem Dawson with 169 yards and six touchdown runs on the ground.
The Spartans (3-1) host Class AA power Bluefield Friday.
