Roundup: Bobcats keep playoff hopes alive

Summers County 42, Richwood 20

RICHWOOD —  Dustin Smith gained 129 yards and scored touchdowns of 59 and 10 yards to keep the Bobcats’ playoff hopes alive.

Teammate Isaiah Brown missed most of the first half because of a cut, but came back to finsh with 115 yards rushing and touchdowns of 25 and 40 yards. T.J. Smith added 77 yards on the ground and had a 35-yard TD pass to A.J. Bennett.

Zach Bennett scored on runs of 30 and 1 yards for Richwood (3-6).

Summers (6-3) hosts Class A power Valley Friday with a playoff berth on the line. Richwood concludes at home against Nicholas County.

NEW RICHMOND — Six players scored touchdowns as the Warriors kept their eyes on a Class AA playoff berth.

Quarterback Aaron Griffith keyed the win with 121 yards rushing and 118 yards passing. He ran for a 75-yard TD and also hit Christian Hedinger with a 77-yard scoring aerial.

Independence’s Colton Ward scored on a 61-yard run and a 68-yard pass from Brian Sexton. Ward finished with 167 yards of total offense.

The Warriors, now 6-3, play Friday at Liberty. Independence (4-5) will conclude its season Friday at Fayetteville.

CLEAR FORK —The Renegades exploded for 32 second-quarter points to put away the Golden Knights.

Sophomore quarterback Justin Cogar keyed Westside with 114 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He also passed for 109 yards and found Dylan Newsome twice in the end zone on 3-yard passes. He also hit Mike Mullens for a 7-yard TD.

Mullens ran for 139 yards and a 16-yard score.

Maurice Brown scored twice for Mount View (3-6).
