n BOYS BASKETBALL SECTIONALS

Greater Beckley Christian 76,

Sherman 56

Class A No. 6 Greater Beckley Christian poured in 12 3-point buckets to roll past the Sherman Tide in Region 3, Section 1 semifinal action Tuesday.

Keith Mullins dropped in five 3-point buckets, giving him 71 for the year, to finish with 21 points in the win. Javonne Staunton-Bailey led all scorers with 23 points and 11 assists for the Crusaders.

Brent Daniels added 18 points and Elisha Kidd scored eight for Greater Beckley.

Cody Muncy led Sherman with 15 points, Corey Smith added 14 and Blake Brewer scored 10.

Greater  Beckley Christian (18-4) travels to Class A No. 1 Tug Valley for the sectional championship Friday.

UPPER GLADE — Class AA No. 8 Webster County shook off a slow start outscoring Braxton County 54-27 over the final three quarters for a semifinal win in Region 1, Section 2 play Tuesday.

Hunter Given scored a game-high 24 points and Brett Morris added 18 points to lead the Highlanders.

Dalton Davis chipped in nine points for Webster County.

Austin Rhodes led Braxton County with 14 points and McKinley Moore had nine points.

Webster County (18-3) hosts Class AA No. 10 Ritchie County Friday for the sectional championship.

PRINCETON — Tanner Farley nailed five 3-point baskets and scored a game-high 24 points to lead PikeView past Mount View Tuesday to advance to the Region 3, Section 2 championship Friday.

Jason Wetzel chipped in 13 points for the Panthers.

Mount View was led by Antione Calloway with 19 points, Paco Bonds with 15 points  Maurice Brown with 11.

PikeView (7-16) plays Class AA No. 1 Bluefield Friday in the championship game.
