HINTON — Class AA No. 7 Wyoming East (11-5) bounced back from a two-game losing streak with an impressive 73-50 win over host Summers County in boys prep basketball action Monday.

The Warriors broke open a four-point halftime lead, outscoring the Bobcats 47-28 in the second half to secure the win.

Wyoming East placed four players in double figures, led by Christian Hedinger with 18 points. Brett Bowling added 15 points, Austin Canada 14 and Josh Tunstalle 11.

TaRon Ayers led the Bobcats with a game-high 21 points and Josh Graham had 10.

Summers County travels to Class AA No. 1 Bluefield today, while Wyoming East hosts Shady Spring.

Fayetteville 65, Oak Hill 35

The Class A No. 8 Fayetteville Lady Pirates rolled past Oak Hill Monday behind the dominant double-double performance of Jessica Brown. Brown poured in a game-high 26 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.

Alvina Sedlock added eight points and seven assists for Fayetteville, while Madie Pritt scored 11 points. Erica Hogan tallied 11 rebounds on the night.

Sarah Kessler led the Lady Red Devils with 14 points and Alyssa Barron added eight.

Fayetteville (10-4) hosts Richwood Wednesday. The game will be played ay Fayetteville High School.

Oak Hill
