ROUNDUP: Coalfield wrestling tournament slated for all day at Greenbrier West

From Staff Reports

MORGANTOWN — PREP WRESTLING

Because of the snowstorm that hit the area late Thursday night, the 36th annual Coalfield Conference Wrestling Tournament will be held all day today at Greenbrier West High School.

The event had been scheduled to begin Friday afternoon, but some schools were not permitted to travel because of school cancellations.

Weigh-ins today will begin at 8 a.m., with wrestling starting at 10 a.m. Three mats will be utilized to help the action go more quickly.

Area teams will participate in various tournaments next week before regional tournaments are held Feb. 15-16. The Class AA/A Region 3 tournament will be hosted by Independence, while Woodrow Wilson, Shady Spring, Oak Hill, Greenbrier East and Princeton will go to Ripley for the Class AAA Region 3 tournament.
