Andrew Johnson added 14 points and Nick Deems scored 11.

FAYETTEVILLE — Jessica Brown and Erica Hogan both had double-doubles as the Pirates won in the Hometown Invitational Tournament.

Brown scored 14 points and grabbed 18 rebounds while Hogan notched 10 points and pulled in 22 boards. Maddie Pritt added 15 points.

Hanna Brown and Jamie Bailey each had 12 points for Richwood (4-7)

Fayetteville (7-2) will host Montcalm at 6 p.m. Thursday, replacing a game with Liberty.

DUNMORE — Bobbie McNabb scored 10 points and Heather Snead added nine as Class A No. 6 Pocahontas County earned its first-ever win over Charleston Catholic.

Olivia Workman grabbed 10 rebounds and Melissa Murphy seven for the Warriors (9-4), who host No. 8 Tygarts Valley Monday.

PREP WRESTLING

Greenbrier West wins at Braxton County


Malik Boatwright and Tyler Parker won individual titles and four other Greenbrier West wrestlers finished runners-up as the Cavaliers won the Braxton County Invitational on Saturday.

The Cavs, who finished with 231 points, have won three straight tournaments. They won the Lindsay Raines Memorial Duals in their home gym Dec. 29, then won the West Virginia Army National Guard Duals last Saturday.

Boatwright was the 152-pound champion and Parker took the title at 170. Both are undefeated on the season.

Taking second place for West were Caleb Currence (106), Jordan Grimmet (126), Marquis Frazier (160) and Triston Kessler (195).

Independence finished third with 181 points, but had three individual champs: Teddy Stover (106), Colton Ward (132) and Dylan McBride (195).

Liberty was eighth at 119 points. Fayetteville was ninth at 109 points, and Tanner Bolt beat Ethan Barker of Midland Trail for the 182-pound title.



Shady Spring fifth at Winner’s Choice

In its strongest Class AAA test of the season, Shady Spring placed fifth at the Winner’s Choice in Fairmont.

The Tigers scored 130 points and had five placewinners. Freshman Logan Robertson was fourth at 106 pounds, Johnny Forren third at 120, John Duncan fourth at 132, Nick Farley third at 138 and Cody Richmond sixth at 152.
