GARDNER — Austin Cordell had a triple and single for PikeView. No one else had multiple hits. James Monroe hit three balls out of the infield and won the game.

Derrick Honaker had a two-run single in the four-run sixth.

Caleb Brown struck out seven in a complete game effort, struck out the final batter with two runners on in the bottom of the seventh.

Late Thursday

Liberty 14-16, Summers County 8-13

HINTON — Matthew Bailey had a huge night, hitting a total of three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Summers County.

Bailey homered twice and drove in four runs to lead the Raiders to a 14-8 win in the first game. Seth Prince had two RBIs, while Austin Lyons, Zack Martin and Joey Lacek (3-for-5) all smacked doubles.

David Willey homered and drove in two runs for Summers. Eric Lindsay hit a pair of doubles.

In the nightcap, Bailey had a homer and three runs as Liberty outslugged the Bobcats 16-13. The Raiders needed a seven-run sixth inning to escape with the win.

Willey had a 5-for-5 night with a triple and four RBIs. Jacob Lively was 4-for-5.

Liberty (11-1) will visit Man for a doubleheader today starting at 2 p.m. Summers (2-9) will play at Valley at 5 p.m. Monday.
