CLARKSBURG — Robert C. Byrd defeated Nicholas County 55-46 Tuesday in the season opener for the Lady Grizzlies.

Corin Todd lead the Eagles with 15, while Shayla Hinterer added 14 and Samantha Buff had 11.

Mykenzie Martin scored a game-high 17 points to lead Nicholas County and Makayla Willis had 14.

Nicholas County (0-1) travels to Sissonville Saturday.
