Lady Spartans’ regional game rescheduled for Thursday

Greenbrier East’s Class AAA Region 3 co-final against Capital was postponed Tuesday. It has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday in Fairlea.

The winner of the game will advance to the state tournament, set for next Wednesday through Saturday at the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum.

The Lady Spartans advanced to the regional round after a 68-51 win over Princeton in the Section 2 championship game.

Princeton defeated George Washington 71-66 Tuesday in region’s other co-final to punch its ticket to the state tournament.

East (24-0) is the defending Class AAA champion and finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press poll.

Seedings for the state tournament will be released later this week.
