ROUNDUP: Snead's career high 25 leads Pocahontas County

The Lady Warriors of Pocahontas County won their 12th straight sectional title in an overtime thriller against Pendelton County.

Pocahontas’ Heather Snead had a career high 22 points and 6 rebounds in the victory. Olivia Workman added 10 points and 6 assists.

Pendelton County’s Hilary Ford had 9 points and 17 rebounds while Kaylee Edwards added 9 rebounds of her own.

The Lady Warriors will move on to play No. 9 Tygart’s Valley, while Pendelton County will take on No. 4 Tucker County in Region 2 action.

POCA — Lauren Young scored 20 points and Shealyn Shafer added 17 to lift the No. 3-ranked Grizzlies to their third win of the season over No. 5 Clay.

Whitney Gould led Clay (16-6) with 23 points, followed by Mckinzee Barker with 15.

Nicholas will host Scott Wednesday in one regional final Wednesday, while Clay travels to Tolsia for the other. The winners will advance to the state tournament.
