ROUNDUP: Warriors, Lady Bobcats take sweeps

NEW RICHMOND — Class AA No. 6 Wyoming East tallied 37 runs on 26 hits to roll past Mount View in a doubleheader sweep Thursday.

Austin Canada had three hits, Josh Zebosky added a double and a triple and David Powers drove in two runs in the opener. Christian Hedinger, Tristen Toler, Jaquan Ayers and Chase Pressley added one RBI each.

Jon Culicerto allowed just two hits to get the win from the hill.

Game two featured a 14-run second inning by the Warriors to secure the win. Hunter Gautier had a double and three RBIs, Hunter Simmons drove in three runs, while Culicerto and Hunter Hall had two RBIs each for the Warriors.

David Carte was the game two winning pitcher allowing only four hits.

Wyoming East (16-3) hosts Westside Monday.

Valley 10, Richwood 5

SMITHERS — Class A No. 4 Valley erased a 5-1 deficit with six runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning and went on to defeat Richwood 10-5 Thursday.

Druw Bowen smacked a triple and had two RBIs and Casey Stewart had two hits and two RBIs to lead the ‘Hounds.

John Riddle, Joe Eckert, Tyler Price and Donte Wilkerson all drove in one run for Valley.

Phoenix Evans led the Lumberjacks with three hits and Caleb Louden had two hits and one RBI.

Valley (10-6) travels to Fayetteville today.
