Fisher scores two to lift Midland Trail

Midland Trail 3, Scott 1

SCOTT — Payton Fisher scored two unassisted goals to lead the Midland Trail Lady Patriots past Scott Tuesday 3-1.

Summer Whipkey added an unassisted goal and goalkeeper Jill Gray had six saves for Midland Trail.

Lindsey Cook scored the lone goal for the Lady Skyhawks and Kayla Jarrell had five saves.

Midland Trail had the edge on shots on goal at 8-7.

The Lady Patriots move to 2-0 and travels to Sherman Tuesday.

Woodrow Wilson 3, Huntington 0

HUNTINGTON — Senior Sarah Akers had a goal and an assist to lead the Woodrow Wilson Lady Flying Eagles past Huntington 3-0 on the road.

Rebekah Cook opened the scoring for Woodrow Wilson and Elizabeth Gramling added a second half goal along with Akers.

Shannon Barajas had two assists, while goalkeeper Emily Lane had three saves in the shut-out win.

The Lady Flying Eagles tallied 11 shots on goal.

Woodrow Wilson (2-0-1) hosts Hurricane Thursday.

PikeView 3, Bluefield 1

BLUEFIELD — The PikeView Lady Panthers scored three unassisted goals to defeat Bluefield 3-1 and record their first win of the young season.

Shyann Carr, Courtney Gray and Sophia Klein each scored a goal for PikeView and goalkeeper Kristen Brinkley had four saves.

The Bluefield goal was scored by Kelsey Fry and Tyra Jackson had eight saves.

PikeView (1-2) hosts Herbert Hoover Saturday at noon.


PikeView 4, Bluefield 0

BLUEFIELD — Hunter Klein scored two goals and added an assist to lead PikeView past the Bluefield Beavers Tuesday 4-0.

Alec White and Alex Testerman added one goal apiece and Brandon Calfee had two assists for the Panthers.

Panthers goalkeeper Austin Cordell recorded three saves in the shutout.

PikeView (1-1-1) hosts Herbert Hoover Saturday at 2 p.m.
