Liberty 7, Lewis County 2

WESTON — The Liberty Raiders broke open a 2-2 tie, scoring five runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Lewis County and remain undefeated on the season.

Dylan Keel had a double and drove in three runs to lead the Raiders, while Matthew Bailey had three hits, including two doubles. Joey and Jake Lacek each added two hits in the Liberty victory.

Winning pitcher Seth Prince allowed two runs in the first inning, then shut down the Lewis County bats over the next six frames.

POCA — Andrue Hughart scattered four hits and gave up just one run to lead Independence past Poca Wednesday.

Brad Huffman had two hits and drove in two runs and Jeremy McGinnis had a double and an RBI.

Drew D’Angelo added two hits and Andrew Cox had a double for the Patriots.

Independence hosts Greenbrier East Monday.

WELCH — The Oak Hill Red Devils pounded out 21 hits and scored 30 runs to take a doubleheader sweep from the host Mount View Golden Knights.

Adam Jones, Daniel Pritt and Bubba Smith each drove in two runs to lead the Red Devils in the game one victory.

Game two saw Chris Hysell stymie the Golden Knights giving up just three hits in the shutout win. Pritt drove in two runs and Austin Nolan smacked a double and had an RBI to lead the Oak Hill hitting.

Oak Hill (3-4) plays Liberty Friday at 1 p.m. at Linda K. Epling Field.
