ROUNDUP: Summers County 84, James Monroe 64

HINTON — BOYS PREP BASKETBALL

Summers County placed three players in double figures and scored 48 second-half points to cruise past James Monroe Wednesday.

TaRon Ayers had a game-high 34 points to lead the Bobcats, while running-mate T.J. Smith poured in 26 points. Big man Josh Graham chipped in 13 points for Summers County.

Josh Gunnoe led James Monroe with 17 points. Garrett Mann scored 16.

Summers County (4-2) hosts Greenbrier West Saturday.

MONTCALM — Senior Teddy Hazzard scored 23 points to lead the Golden Knights past Montcalm Wednesday.

Donnell Bonds added 17 points and Antoine Calloway scored nine for Mount View.

Darius Brodesser led Montcalm with 16 points.

Mount View (4-1) plays Patrick Henry, Va. today at 5:30 p.m. in the Princeton holiday tournament.

Westside 72, Wyoming East 36


CLEAR FORK — The Westside Lady Renegades jumped out to a 44-16 halftime lead and rolled past county rival Wyoming East Wednesday to remain undefeated on the season.

Hope Lester had a double-double to lead the Lady Renegades scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Morgan Spolarich dished out 10 assists to go along with her six points for Westside, while Faith Davis added nine points.

Megan Endicott, Lakyn Walker and Hope Davis added eight points apiece for the Lady Renegades.

Haley Lowman scored 12 points and Bre Pertee added nine points for Wyoming East.

Westside (8-0) hosts Shady Spring Wednesday.
