Middle School Players of the Week

The Upper Deck Middle School league at Linda K. Epling Stadium have announced their players of the week for week 1 (March 10-17) and week 2 (March 18-24).

Michael Guilliams of the Shady Spring Tigers was named the varsity Pitcher of the week for week 1. Guilliams was 1-0 with 0 runs allowed, 0 hits allowed, 10 strikeouts and 0 walks over 12 batters. Eastern Greenbrier’s Daylon Colley was the week 1 varsity player of the week. He went 5-7 with a .714 average. Colley had two triples, one grand slam and 8 runs batted in.

Garrett Matherly of Shady Spring was the JV pitcher of the week (1-0, 10 strikeouts, 0 runs allowed) and Ryan Shaffer, also of Shady was the JV player of the week (2-4, 2 RBI, 1 SB). Eastern Greenbrier’s Chance Wagner was the junior-junior varsity pitcher of the week and Josh Pritt was player of the week.

Daylon Colley was also named player of the week for week 2. Collye went 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Summers County Giants’ Dalton Meador was the pitcher of the week with 11 strikeouts, two hits and 0 runs allowed.

Hunter Fansler of the Park A’s was named the junior varsity pitcher and player of the week. Fansler fanned 9 of the 10 battes he faced, and also went 2-6 with 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases.
