Fayetteville 13, Richwood 1

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville scored six runs in the seventh inning to put away the Lumberjacks Friday in the Spring Break Wooden Bat Tournament in Fayetteville.

Trey Phares and Jake Holland had two hits apiece for the Pirates and Jake Holland pitched a complete game for the win.

Fayetteville will play Nicholas County today in the third place game at 11 a.m.

FAYETTEVILLE — Wyoming East pushed home a run in the top of the eighth inning to defeat Greenbrier West Friday in the conclusion of a game started Wednesday in the Spring Break Wooden Bat Tournament at Fayetteville.

Greenbrier West had rallied to tie the game with three runs in the seventh on Wednesday before darkness stopped the game.

 Austin Canada had three hits and pitched the bottom of the eight to get the win, while Brian Lusk and Cody Bishop had two hits apiece for the Warriors.

Jared Jennings had two hits including a double and two RBIs and Mikey Goddard had two hits for the Cavaliers.

FAYETTEVILLE — Austin Canada and Jonathan Culicerto combined to hold Van to three runs and four hits in a 14-3 Wyoming East victory.

Christian Hedinger went 3-for-3 with a trio of RBIs, while Derek Thornton was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Canada and catcher Nick Shifflett each had an RBI.

Van’s Sigmund picked up the loss and went 1-3.
