Greenbrier West 9, Nicholas County 8 (5 innings)

FAYETTEVILLE — Austin Ransom hit a game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead Greenbrier West past Nicholas County Friday in the Spring Break Wooden Bat Tournament in Fayetteville.

The game was ended after five innings due to darkness.

Jared Jennings had a double and a triple and Mikey Goddard added two hits for the Cavaliers.

Will Mayes had a double and two singles to lead the Grizzlies.

Greenbrier West will play Woodrow Wilson today in the championship game at 1 p.m.

Liberty 13, Oak Hill 11

Liberty scored eight runs in the first and then held off an Oak Hill rally to win 13-11 Firday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Colten Taylor picked up the win, going seven full innings for the Raiders (7-1).

Austin Lyons was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Joey Lacek was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Dekoda Baulet was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Wes Stowers and Chris Dennier had two RBIs each for Oak Hill.

Liberty will host Fayetteville Monday at 5:30 p.m.
