ROUNDUP: Red Devils, Greyhounds earn wins

Oak Hill 8, Ripley 3


RIPLEY — Bubba Smith had three hits including a home run and two doubles to lead Oak Hill past Ripley for their first win of the season. Smith also drove in two runs in the win.

Chris Hysell and Wesley Stowers added a double and drove in two runs for the Red Devils.

Hysell also picked up the win on the mound.

Oak Hill (1-2) travels to St. Albans today.

SMITHERS — Arik McGinnis continued swinging a hot bat smacking a home run and driving in five runs to lead the Valley Greyhounds past Nicholas County Thursday.

Raeshawn Breckenridge added two hits, including a double, while Joseph Eckert had a triple and an RBI for Valley. John Riddle contributed three hits and Drew Jones two hits for the Greyhounds.

Cody Winter scattered five hits to capture the win.

Tyler Sagraves had a double and an RBI and Drew Moore had two hits and an RBI for the Grizzlies.

Valley (5-1) hosts Midland Trail at 1 p.m. today.
