ROUNDUP: Shady girls whip GW in twin-bill

The Shady Spring Lady Tigers rolled up 27 runs in a doubleheader sweep of George Washington Friday to remain undefeated for the season.

In the first game Katie Snodgress surrendered just one run from the hill, while Sierra Richmond, Mackenzie Milam and Autumn Kauff each had a double and drove in one run to lead the Tigers to victory.

The Tiger bats were to much for the Patriots in game two pounding out 17 hits and scoring 21 runs in the sweep.

Mackenzie Milam blasted two home runs and drove in nine runs to lead the red hot Tigers, while Sierra Richmond added four hits in the win.

McKenzie Severt drove in three runs and Alexis Coalson and Alexis DeMoss drove in two runs apiece for Shady Spring.

Shady Spring (4-0) plays PikeView Wednesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Oak Hill 6, Woodrow Wilson 2

OAK HILL — The Lady Red Devils exploded for six runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat Woodrow Wilson 6-2 Friday.

Morgan Harrah limited the Lady Flying Eagles to just three hits from the mound and banged out two hits, including a triple to lead Oak Hill.

Tiffany Gray and Hannah Johnson each added two hits for the Lady Red Devils.

Cara MacCauley had a double for Woodrow Wilson.

Oak Hill (1-3) plays Monday in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. tournament at 10 a.m.

NEW RICHMOND — Austin Canada drilled a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Wyoming East past Nicholas County Friday for their first win of the season.

Derek Thornton added two hits and Brian Lusk had a double and a RBI for the Warriors.

Anthony Mayes led the Grizzlies with a double, a home run and two RBI.

Wyoming East travels to Oak Hill today at 4 p.m.

HINTON — Timmy Kitchen struck out 11 batters in 5 innings to give Summers County the victory over Meadow Bridge.

Jaquan Ayers went 3-3 with three doubles and 4 RBI, while Aaron Gunnoe went 3-4 with 3 RBI.

Meadow Bridge’s Cody White was 1-2 with a single.

Summers County will travel to Narrows (Va.) on Tuesday.

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville had 10 runs on 12 hits in a victory over the visiting Sherman Tide Friday.

Trey Farris pitched 7 innings and went 1 for 3 with a double.

Aaron Krise went 3 for 4 and Joseph Rinehart was 4 for 4.

The Pirates will take on Liberty today at 1:30 p.m. in Fayetteville.
