Lady Riders reunite at states

Team cheers on successor Westside at state tournament

CHARLESTON — The 1983-84 Baileysville High School Lady Riders were the school's first girls basketball team to earn a berth in the West Virginia Class AA state tournament at the Charleston Civic Center.

Coach Debbie Hall's squad defeated Northfork in the regional to advance.

Hall and many members of her team got together at the Civic Center March 15 and sat in the Westside cheering section, watching as the Lady Renegades defeated Sissonville for the state championship.

Baileysville eventually consolidated with Oceana into Westside.
