ROUNDUP: Meadow Bridge, Midland Trail, Mount View take sectional wins

MEADOW BRIDGE — All-stater Chandra Harrah was harassed by a box-and-one defense, but three other girls hit double figures to give Meadow Bridge a 48-37 victory Saturday.

Allison Gilkerson scored 16 points, and Caitlin White and Sarah Fleshman added 12 and 11, respectively, for the Wildcats. It was their eighth consecutive win.

Harrah was held to seven points.

West’s Rachel Redden led all scorers with 17 points. Kristen Harris chipped in 13.

Meadow Bridge will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at second-seeded Valley.

Greenbrier West (4-13)

Midland Trail 51, Richwood 47

RICHWOOD — Marissa Workman hit a key 3-pointer as Midland Trail withstood a big Richwood rally.

The Lumberjacks used full-court pressure to cut a 20-point deficit down to four points with 1:47 to play before Workman hit her third 3 of the game to break Richwood’s momentum.

Madison Syner paced Trail with 23 points, followed by Workman with 12 and Emily Carte with eight.

Breanna Mazzella topped Richwood with 17 points. Hannah Brown added 12.

Trail (6-13) will play at top-seeded Fayetteville at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.

Midland Trail (6-13)

WELCH — Ashleigh Belfiore scored 16 points and Jordan Younger tallied 13 as Mount View held off River View.

Chelsey Dobbs scored 16 points and Phyllis Waldron had 12 for River View.

Mount View will play PikeView at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals at Princeton High School.
