SUMMERSVILLE — The Class AA No. 15 Nicholas County Grizzlies held Class AA No. 13 Robert C. Byrd to 36 yards of total offense and just two first downs to dominate the Eagles 24-0 Friday.

Wil Mayes rushed for 158 yards on 27 carries, scored two touchdowns (1, 11) and had 10 tackles on the defensive side of the ball to lead the Grizzlies.

Andrew Woods also scored on a one-yard run for the Grizzlies, and Austin Hill booted a 25-yard field goal to go along with his nine tackles.

Quarterback Tyler Sagraves had another solid night under center passing for 169 yards and rushing for 35 yards.

The Grizzlies (4-2) travel to Webster County Friday.

ONA — The Class AAA No. 8 Cabell Midland Knights were too much for the youthful Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles Friday, rolling to a 42-0 win.

Coy Petitt had a touchdown run (4) and a touchdown pass (41) to Tanner Chapman to lead the Knights.

The Knights finished with over 400 yards of total offense and held the Flying Eagles to 58 total yards and just four first downs on the evening.

Woodrow Wilson (2-3) returns home Friday to face the Parkersburg Big Reds.
