WELCH — Freshman Destiny Robertson nailed two foul shots with 1.8 seconds left on the clock to lift Mount View over James Monroe Tuesday for its 11th win.

Keisha Johnson led the 11-4 Lady Golden Knights with 10 and Victoria Bright scored nine.

Mikala Moran scored a game-high 13 points and Carter Shiflet added 11.

SMITHERS — Class A No. 6 Valley fought through a cold shooting night to defeat county rival Meadow Bridge 51-44 Tuesday.

Druw Bowen led the balanced scoring for the ‘Hounds with 17 points, Raeshawn Breckenridge added 16 points, while Zac Warden scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Logan Pomeroy led all scorers with 18 points for the Wildcats and Kyle Judy chipped in 13 points.

Valley (14-1) plays Class A No. 11 Clay-Battelle in the Division 1 championship game of the WV Hometown Invitational Tournament Saturday in Summersville at 7:30 p.m.

Cody Collins scored nine points to pace the Patriots (3-14), who host James Monroe at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The Renegades (12-3) will host Class AAA No. 6 Greenbrier East at 7:30 p.m. today.
