ROUNDUP: No. 2 Summers County stops Bluefield 68-49

HINTON — Brandy Morrison scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Class AA No. 2 Summers County moved past the visiting Beavers.

Whittney Justice scored 16 points and Brittney Justice scored 11, and both had five assists. Avery Pivont and Brennah Davis each added 10 points.

Destiny Simms led Bluefield (7-7) with 16 points. Essence Brown and Dazia Edwards added 10 apiece.

Summers (16-1) will visit Independence at 7:30 p.m. today.

Greenbrier East 82, Dayspring Christian Academy (Va.) 35

FAIRLEA — Ellen Henthorn filled up the stat sheet as Class AAA No. 2 Greenbrier East rolled over Dayspring Christian Academy.

Henthorn finished with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Chaunté McDowell had 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Spartans (16-1), while Sidney Nunley had eight points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks. Chloe Honaker scored 12 and Lexi Tincher 10.

Dayspring (17-8) got 15 points from Abigail Morrill and 10 from Christine Rivens.

East will visit George Washington at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Liberty 65, Van 59

Stacy Williams had a double-double and dominated the paint to lead the Liberty Lady Raiders past Van Tuesday. Williams tossed in 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the win.

Katie McGinnis and Jasmine Law added 15 points apiece and Law had eight rebounds for Liberty.

Destiny Lovejoy led the Lady Bulldogs with 20 points, Stevie White had 16 and Bailey Farmer scored 15.

Liberty (3-12) hosts Oak Hill Thursday at 5 p.m.
