COVINGTON, Va. —Tristin Day scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Pocahontas County past Alleghany, Va. Tuesday and remain undefeated on the season.

Heather Snead added 16 points and Melissa Murphy had 14 points for the Warriors.

Bobbie McNabb scored nine points and had five blocks for Pocahontas County.

Paige Irvin led Alleghany with a game-high 20 points.

Pocahontas County (4-0) plays Friday in the Rogers Oil Classic against Clay County.

Westside place five players in double figures to roll past Independence Tuesday in Coal City.

Justin Cogar scored 20 points and Levi Lambert added 19 for the Renegades, while Jason Scarlett chipped in 12, Justin Kenneda 12 and Corey Bowles 10.

Tyler McKinney led the Patriots with 17 points and Drew D’Angelo added 12 points.

Cody Collins added 10 for Independence, while Shane Greco score 10 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and had eight blocks.

Independence (0-2) hosts Wyoming East Friday. Westside (2-0) travels to Tug Valley Saturday.
