ROUNDUP: Workman fires one-hitter for Red Devils

Ciera Workman fired a one-hit shutout and had one RBI to lead the Oak Hill Lady Red Devils past Summers County Wednesday. Workman fanned five batters and walked only one.

Hannah Fridley added two hits and an RBI, while Hannah Powers, Morgan Harrah, Samantha Davis and Autumn Hannah each had one hit and one RBI for Oak Hill.

Brittany Bennett had the lone hit for Summers County.

Oak Hill (6-6) travels to Woodrow Wilson today.

FAIRLEA — Abbie Cook hit a two-run home run in the fifth to give the Spartans the victory.

Pitcher Victoria Krystynak spun a five-hitter and struck out 10 Grizzlies.

Whitney Robinson allowed East just two hits, the home run and a double by Cook. She struck out eight while walking two.

Lauren Young added an RBI single for Nicholas (6-10), which hosts Wyoming East at 5 p.m. today.

RICHWOOD — The Greyhound bats were red hot Wednesday pounding out 20 hits as Valley rolled over Richwood.

Cody Winter blasted two home runs and drove in five runs to lead Valley, while Arik McGinnis and Raeshawn Breckenridge each drove in four runs and Druw Bowen added three hits.

Drew Jones, Mark Hess, Todd Coleman and Austin Arthur had two hits apiece for the Greyhounds.

Ben Beaver drove in two runs for the Lumberjacks.

Valley (13-5) hosts Charleston Catholic today.
