Bobcats down Raiders in sectional


Summers County 12, Liberty 2

GLEN DANIEL — Jacob Lively’s single in the bottom of the fifth inning scored two runs and lifted Summers County to a 12-2 10-run rule win over Liberty Wednesday in the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 tournament. The Bobcats’ win set up a championship game with top-seeded Independence today.

Trevor Anderson allowed just three hits over five innings of work and helped himself with a single and a pair of RBIs. Eric Lindsey had a double and scored three runs, and Trey Bower was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

Liberty’s Dakota Boulet had an RBI double in the loss.

Today’s sectional championship is scheduled for 6 p.m.
