Roundup: Flying Eagles suffer third consecutive loss

WINFIELD — The Winfield Generals used an 8-0 run late to break open a tie game, sending the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles to their third straight loss Thursday.

Zach Fisher led the Generals with 11 points and Kenneth Price chipped in 10 points.

Donte Nabors led the Flying Eagles with 16 points, while Andrew Johnson added 13 points.

Woodrow Wilson (4-4) travels to Cabell Midland Saturday.

Greenbrier East 66, Alleghany, Va. 60 (2 OT)

COVINGTON, Va. — The Class AAA No. 4 Greenbrier East Spartans fended off a pesky Alleghany, Va. team in double-overtime Thursday to remain undefeated.

Obi Romeo had the best game of his high school career, leading the way for the Spartans with 19 points and 21 rebounds.

Rondale Watson scored a game-high 27 points to go along with five assists and five steals for Greenbrier East.

Kendall Kessinger led the Mountaineers with 20 points.

Greenbrier East travels to Covington, Va. Monday.

Greenbrier West 47, Meadow Bridge 35

MEADOW BRIDGE — Greenbrier West pulled away in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.

Josh Martin led the 6-1 Cavaliers with 12 points, followed by Brandon Gwinn with 10 and Colby Ennis with 9. West will host Valley tonight.

Logan Pomeroy topped Meadow Bridge (3-4) with 16 points. Cole Porter scored 7.

The Wildcats will play Thursday at Summers County.
