Boys: Liberty 65, Independence 50

GLEN DANIEL — The Liberty Raiders jumped out to a 15-point first-quarter lead and cruised past county rival Independence in Glen Daniel.

Levi Cook and Trevor McGhee each had a double-double to lead the Raiders. Cook had 22 points and 14 rebounds, while McGhee had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Austin Lyons added 11 points for the Raiders.

Shane Greco led the Patriots with 13 points and Bill Sargent added 12.

Liberty plays Shady Spring tonight in the championship game of the Shady Spring holiday tournament, while Independence plays PikeView in the consolation game.
