Roundup: Wyoming East stuns River View 10-6

NEW RICHMOND — Chris Cecil nailed a 30-yard field goal with 4:24 left in the game as Class AA No. 14 Wyoming East knocked off Class AA No. 10 River View at the War Zone Friday.

After a scoreless first half, Aaron Griffith hit Ty Treadway on a 15-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring in the second half for Wyoming East prior to Cecil’s kick.

Jordan Wilson scored on a four-yard run for River View late in the fourth quarter, but East recovered the onside kick to preserve the victory.

Wyoming East (4-2) travels to PikeView next Friday.

HICO — Jake Grimmett ran for 134 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Patriots.

One of Grimmett’s scores was a 26-yard fumble return. He also had 3 solo tackles, including a sack.

Aaron Presley had a 66-yard kickoff return for Montcalm (3-3).
