CLEAR FORK — Westside outscored Man 17-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 60-52 win over Man Friday night in prep boys basketball action.

Dustin Tilley recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points and hauling in 10 rebounds to pace Westside. Dillon Newsome had a team-high 17 points.

Jordan Simpson had a game-high 20 points and Adam Copley scored 16 to lead Man.

Westside (6-7) will visit Mount View at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.



Liberty 52, Fayetteville 36

FAYETTEVILLE — Seth Wimbish scored 14 points while Justin Wills and Kevin Keith each added 11 for Liberty.

Fayetteville got 10 from Corey Goodman.

The Pirates (0-6) host Mount Hope tonight.



Midland Trail 56, Valley 43

HICO — Jordan Burdette paced Class A No. 8 Midland Trail with 25 points Friday in a win over county foe Valley.

Casey Deskins and Casey Kessler tallied 16 points apiece as Trail improved 8-2. Kessler also had a team-high 10 points and four assists.

Valley was led by Andre Wright’s 20 points. Cameron Cochran was also in double figures for the Greyhounds, scoring 13.

Midland Trail visits Mount Hope at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.



n PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL

Independence 47, Oak Hill  42

Alissa Ward scored 18 points as Independence held on after leading  25-6 at halftime.

Oak Hill got 19 from Kristen White, who made five three-pointers. Emily Aurednik added 10.

Indy (5-6) will visit Fayetteville while the Red Devils (5-6) go to Liberty.



Late Thursday

Fayetteville 63, Midland Trail 51

HICO — Jessica Brown tallied a game-high 19 points and 16 rebounds Thursday, en route to a victory over host Midland Trail.

Avina Sedlock and Melissa Lewis scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Erica Hogan gathered in 10 rebounds for the winners.

Kennedy Cochran and Sara Vest had 12 points apiece to lead Trail.

Fayetteville (4-4) will host Montcalm at 5 p.m today at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Building.



n MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL

Fayetteville 22, Nuttall 19

Kaitlyn Sifler and Maddie Pritt led Fayetteville with eight and five points, respectively.

Emily Carte and Jessica Cooper scored six points apiece to lead Nuttall.

Fayetteville (9-1) plays at Meadow Bridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Eighth Grade

Summers County 36, Athens 33

Avery Pivont led the winners with 10 points. Abby Taylor pitched in nine and Audrey Holley and Shelby Smith had seven points apiece. Smith also had a team-high 11 rebounds.

Madison Mayes had 11 points to lead Athens, while Brennah Davis scored eight.

Summers County (5-5) will play again at 7:30 p.m. Monday at home.



Seventh Grade

Summers County 45, Athens 28

Britteny Justice tallied 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Whittney Justice added 13 to propel Summers County to the win.

Summers (9-1) will play again at 6:30 p.m. Monday at home.
